The system reduces swelling and inflammation, improves range of movement, and can reduce blood loss.  It can help prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE) which can occur after hip surgery.  It also reduces your pain levels, ultimately helping provide a quicker recovery.
